Less Talk More Action
Liverpool Transfers
I never want to talk about transfers in the absence of a deal ever again. I have noticed our best signings come without a lot of speculation and hoopla.
It’s the ones we get excited about for weeks or days or years that tend to bite us in the butt. Jude Bellingham. Moises Caicedo. Names I never want to hear again. Although, I comfort myself knowing that Brentford can keep their song. (If you know, you know)
The great signings come in with little warning and are often boo-hoo’d by fans before turning into world beaters. Remember Mo Salah. A Chelsea throw-away. Sadio Mane? Over-priced? And who the Hell is Andrew Robertson? From Hull? Seriously? He looks like a donkey.
And runs like a race horse, relentless, bullying, bantering, assisting like no one has ever played left back before or since. Seven trophies later, here we are.
That said, welcome to Liverpool, Wataru Endo. This is the captain of a talented Japanese side. Endo is versatile and reliable. He is not much injured like the pieces of glass we tried to sign last summer. Which understandably adds to the skepticism of the fans this window. Be glad. This is a good bit of business.
For more on this new player, please see attached Tomkins Times article. Paul has the inside beat that I lack. I have an ocean between me and proper access. I have passion and opinions. He has facts and stats coming out of all his orifices. I very much enjoy his insights. They are fair and positive.
Liverpool does its best business in the dark. No, I do NOT think this is a panic buy. It happened so fast and for such a decent fee, I think the coals were already in the fire. And he makes a lot of sense on a squad that has lost most of its mature players in a single window.
I don’t believe it is our final signing in this window. Only time will tell, and I for one, am not judging a transfer window until it is done. That has burned me before. Consider our last three buys before Endo. Not bad, are they?

I like him. I expect him to be at least decent, if not more than that.
